'Cool' Pc-9's at NRN |
|
On wednesday February 21st two PC-9/B's arrived at Airport Weeze for a three day stay. The aircraft were hired by the RNLAF (Royal Netherlands Air Force) to fly CAS (Close Air Support) missions at RNLAF Air Base "De Peel". Together with an L-39, wich operated from Eindhoven they flew missions to "De Peel'' on Thursday and Friday acting as enemy aircraft. Both PC-9's arrived on Wednesday afternoon at Weeze using the callsigns: Cool52 Alpha and Cool52 Bravo. The aircraft are operated by: EIS aircraft, so the callsign is well chosen. (EIS is german for ICE, and ICE is Cool...) Unfortunelately one of the missions on thursday was cancelled due to weather, and the second friday-mission was also cancelled. At De Peel the CAS missions are only carried out until 1300hrs local due to noise regulations. Both aircraft flew back to Kiel in Northern Germany after completing their mission at RNLAF De Peel.
